Hi,
I am currently undertaking a Masters of Education with a major in teacher librarianship. In the current semester, amongst many other things, we are investigating various incarnations of Guided Inquiry and the relationship between GI and information literacy.
As yet I have not prepared anything to add, this is just a quick hello and I will get back to this at a later point.
I look forward to touching base with my 'partners in crime' over the semester via our blogs and I especially look forward to being able to take what I am learning out of the classroom and into a library next year.
Greetings Bernie
ReplyDeleteI like the pink colour scheme, very calming!
I agree with your observations about the readings, firstly that students wander aimlessly during Web searches and require scaffolding to weed out authentic sources and secondly with the McKenzie reading. I just loved the trademark of "Mentalsoftness" and found that his website had a few good tips for working with students on meaningful searches.
The searching goes on..and on..and on...
Cheers
